Focus is the key...

I often see with my students that they will play around with the peices they captured, or whip out an Iphone and text. Then, when it is their move, they totally blunder, because they did not pay attention to where I moved. When you are playing somebody, you should ALWAYS pay attention to where your opponent is moving.

    It seems as though there are less and less people you can concentrate on a game without being distracted.  If you can master that ability, zingbat, you will go a long way toward being a master.
