Fianchetto

A fianchetto is when a bishop sits on the longest diagonal, usually behind the moved knight's pawn. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here is another type called extended fianchetto.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is exaggerated fianchetto.

    the fiencetto is good when its done at the right time at the right place like if the diagonal is opened or if you have a peice to progress in front of it. it can be very sneaky

    i just really began using my bishops alot better because of the access that they have when the technique is used
