Me and my friends had a two month period of opening a King's Gambit. We usually played either 3. Bc5 or 3. Nf3. Both worked really well and fun games were had on both sides of the chess board.
turbine you got to be kidding me
I play against the King's gambit frequently. I simply play 1. e4 e5 2. f4 Bc5. This bishop is very annoying as it prevents white from castling easily.
i find the divation very beneficial especialy on my part since 1e4 e5 2d3 loses the control of the centre.
how do you handle 3d4 h4???
I've heard of it before and won many games with the kings gambit.
I've heard of the kings gambit and won many games with it.
This is definitely a awesome opening, but I prefer 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4
b.spassky was surprised when b.fischer used it in on one of their champioship games in manila, philippines. too bad i havent got that game but i guess d chessworld begun 2 ponder on that gambit when bobby won d game...
I don't get it. 17. Why not Qh7 instead of Bh7.
On move 17. Why not Qh7 instead of Bh7
Why white move 17.Bh7+ ?? Just play 17.Qh7#.
Does anyone know the best strategy for black against King's gambit?
You had mate with 16...
i like playing this gambit it leads to lots of tactics and strategy truly a fun chess opening i am addicted.
I don't know about you guys....
but I am not interested in this kind of openning at all!
In this text we read that this openning seriously weaken the position of the Black pieces, but I don't think so!
The position of the black pieces will not be seroiusly weaken by white king gambit!
That's stupid! so what? Sacrefice a pawn at the beginning of the game to have more control in the center? Central control is a complex situation and there is a lot of other ways that Black can gain control of the center after white King Gambit!
do you really think that you can disable central control of your opponent just by sacreficeing a pawn? I don't think so.....
Moreover, you will mar your pawn defence line in front of your king by king gambit openning!
it's my opinion .... maybe because I am not a sacrificial chess player.
anybody agree with me?
