Downers Grove Chess Club

  • The Downers Grove Chess Club provides friendly and fun chess action. Chess players of all levels of chess experience attend and are welcome. Downers Grove Chess Club has no dues: it is entirely free to participate. DGCC membership is at 30 members, including 6 players with a master or expert rating. We have a typical attendance of about 15 players per club meeting. DGCC is an affiliate of the United States Chess Federation and of the Illinois Chess Association. DGCC fields a chess team in the Chicago Industrial Chess League.

    Roughly every other week we hold an event of some sort, so it helps to be on time.  Players often come and go depending upon their schedules.

    No; our weekly meetings occur on Wednesday evening.  Occasionally groups of us play in tournaments in the central US.
