We are a friendly club located in Huntsville, TX and have been around since 1984. We have a wide range of players from age 8-80 and ratings from 800-1700. We meet each Saturday from 5 PM until 9 PM at Schlotzsky's. Northbound on I-45 take Exit 116 and there you are. We are always looking for new players so drop on by and check us out, and if nothing else, come by and enjoy some good sandwiches.

i would be interested in coming if you met somewhere besides a sandwich shop, it seems like it would be too noisy for serrious chess play.

I've since moved to Temple but when I was there Saturday nights were generally pretty quiet. Email TexasChessNut to see if that's changed but I doubt it has.

The location has changed, the new location is in Starbuck's inside Target, believe me it's much quieter and the atmosphere is great. Schlotzkys has a tendency to get really hot, not so in Starbuck's. You should come out and play sometime. Mondays 5:15pm-9:30pm
