@webiron -- Bob will know best, and you can ask him to add you to his email list for the latest updates.  The Gulf Gate Library is closed for renovations, but they have a temporary library where the club has been playing.  Tomorrow (Sat May 4) they'll be there.  It's the Gulf Gate Temporary Library in the Westfield Mall just outside the mall entrance to JC Penny from 1:00pm to 4:45pm.

    Hi Bob,

Last weekend I drove quite a lot and went to both the Jacaranda and Venice libraries and the librarians told me the chess club was not there. This weekend I went up to Gulf Gate library in Sarasota and it was completely closed. Can you please post accurate or more detailed information so other people don't waste their time driving arount also?

Since most people work during the week, it might be best to post a weekday schedule and weekend schedule separately so it's clearer.

    Thanks,
    Doug

Hello fellow chess players. I attend the Sarasota Military Academy. We have started our own unoffical chess club there. We meet every day during lunch in room 31 and we have tournaments about every nine weeks. We have lunch for about 30 minutes starting at 10:20. If you have any questions, contact me or Captain John Geimer, our club sponsor.

I was wondering if there is a chess club, or enough interested players in the Bradenton area.

I REALLY APPRECIATE THE VISION OF KNOWING THERES A CLUB NEAR MY RESIDENCE. I JUST RECENTLY RELOCATED FROM MARYLAND, AND WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANY CHESS CLUBS, NOR PLAYERS. SO THANK YOU

Looks like most of you are in south sarasota! I'm in far north Sarasota so Venice is a hike for me. I could make the gulf gate location but it's only on saturday and I work every weekend ! So if there's any interest in a meet at the rout 70 library east of lockridge or even gulf gate on a Monday or Tuesday I would supply 5 boards and even clocks if you like. I am just getting back into playing again.
