Twin Ports Chess Club

  • Going strong into its third decade of existence, the Twin Ports Chess Club meets every Monday night from 6pm to 10pm at the Superior Senior Center (directly across from the Superior Public Library) in Superior, WI (right over the bridge next to Duluth, MN). United States Chess Federation (USCF) sanctioned tournaments are held at 7pm where a variety of rated, timed games are played (tournaments range from Game in 20 minutes up to 90 minutes depending on club interest). Non-tournament games are often played from 6-7 before the nightly USCF tournament begins.

Players of all skill ranges are welcome to attend. You do not have to have a USCF membership to attend, but in order to play tournament games you will need to sign up for a USCF membership. If you are interested in taking your game to the next level, check out the Twin Ports Chess Club every Monday night between 6pm and 10pm.

Alot of people have asked me about the MNopen and if I was planing on attending. Zagar has told me that Vojie was host the event yet I've seen no postings on it either in mnchess site or USCF club/tourney which is http://main.uschess.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=199 I think that winning the bid for the scholastic may be of some interference.

"The Milan Chorkovich Blitz Championship" should be revived. Let's look into it and set a date!

That Bennett seems to be on a rampage; winning both the 4 rd. G/45 and the 3 rd. G/29 over the past couple of weeks! But I was wondering if there's any chance of seeing that traveling blitz trophy make it's way back to the club soon? Always a good showing for that non-rated annual event.
