I want to come and check this group out. I recently moved and I have never been in a chess club before. I used to play years ago. What do I need to bring? I just want to see how is it like before getting a year membership. Can someone tell me what they do, aside from playing chess of course...

Great club.  Just entered my first tourny there (a four round, twenty min rapid one, got 1.5 pts of four).  Recommended. :-)

guanacux, you don't need to bring anything.  Just show up to play (you can play causal games or tournys depending on what you feel like).  They have Chess Life mags you can browse thru while you're there also.

I finally came up with the gumption to pay and play.  It was fun!  Mr. Sweet and Mr. Cashman run a serious club where everyone is welcome. Chess is encouraged. Chess players are valued.  ... See you there. (P.S. Bring a chess set and a water bottle, a pen and paper, and the desire to improve your play.)
