About Me:

Hello, I am international master Bryan Smith, from the U.S. and sometimes living in Europe. I offer lessons, training games, and analysis of your games.

I grew up in Alaska and am the highest rated player ever from there. Some of the tournaments I have won include: 2011 Limpedea Cup (Romania), 2011 Citta di Erba (Italy), 2011 Easter International (Serbia), 2010 Philadelphia International (USA), 2009 National Chess Congress (USA), 2008 National Chess Congress (USA), 2008 King's Island Open, 2006 US Masters (USA) and others. I have two grandmaster norms.

Training games will include a short analysis after the game. Lessons begin with us analysing your games to see where are your strong and weak points, and then we go from there. Written commentary of your games is in about the same level of depth as the main games in my articles, analyzed from a human perspective (I will not use a computer to analyze your games), and will include a summary of the game at the end as well as an assessment of your strengths and weaknesses based on that game.

Highly recommended if your seeking a coach. Very prompt in providing his services and help. I sent a game in pgn to be annotated and received a response with-in a 1/2 day. He was very in-depth with his notes of my game and the variations describing how I could've been more flexible in keeping my options open. Also, Bryan pointed out a lot of things I missed in my post-mortem analysis. Things such as the open file I willing gave up and how and why he would've mantained it, or an outpost I never even considered, as well as pawn play. I learned more about MY game and areas that need to be addressed and plan to use Byran's service's in the future.
