Evan has been coaching my son since January and I'm thrilled with how it's going.  Evan quickly picked up the strengths and weaknesses in my son's game.  In addition, Evan has a great personality - he's kind and engaging and my son always looks forward to his chess lesson.  I have three kids who've been involved in a myriad of activities and my experience is that finding a good coach is always key.  We're so happy to have found Evan and would highly recommend him!

Evan is an excellent coach and his lessons are great value for money. He quickly assessed my game and put me on a path to improving my chess. In my short time with Evan, I have seen a big improvement in my game. My online ratings have increased and I have scored some wins from the stronger players in my local club. Evan thinks fast and has a deep knowledge of the game. He is also well-spoken and easy to get along with. I look forward to continuing my lessons with Evan and I highly recommend him to any player who wants to improve.

I have been taking weekly lessons from Evan for about 8 months.  He is a very good teacher.  He obviously knows his stuff.  I am constantly impressed with his comprehensive and extensive knowledge about chess.  He is very well spoken and articulate.  He is very friendly and easy to get along with.  He does a good job teaching to my level, which is a lot lower than his.  His lessons are a fantastic value.  I am extremely satisified with him as a coach and teacher which is evident by over 8 straight months of lessons.  Don't hesitate to give him a try, you won't be dissappointed.  Thanks Evan!

Evan really helps you develop your game plan as well as your confidence to become a winning tournament player or just chess player. I have to reiterate what others have already said which helped me choose him as a coach. He is a friendly, patient, and a wonderful teacher! Questions are answered considerately and he really takes the time to explain your concerns no matter how easy or hard they may be.

My son is 9 and has been having lessons with Evan now for about a month. He has been great at establishing a strong rapport with my son and keeping chess fun for him.  My son is learning a lot from him.  Evan has really tailored the lessons to meet his needs.  It is clear he puts a lot of thought into the lessons and homework he assigns.  My son enjoys working with him, and he makes it very easy for me to understand what they are doing in the lesson.  I highly recommend him to anyone, especially parents with young children.

Recently had my first lesson with Evan, and it was worth every penny. He is very friendly, patient, and fun. Already scheduled the next lesson. I can't recommend him enough... he should charge more!

I recently had my first lesson with Evan, and I can honestly say that one hour alone was more beneficial to my overall chess than I could've even anticipated.

Having attempted lessons once before, which I found a waste of time and money, I was obviously a bit wary about getting a new chess instructor. But Evan was knowledgable, efficient, entertaining, and above all patient(double exclam) with me as I reinvest my time and energy into chess. Maybe the most important fact of all is that during my lesson I had fun. And, as I'm not trying to make a living out of the game, that's what I feel chess should be.

I've already booked my second lesson, and I'm certain there will be many more to come.

My son is a 1200 junior player. He improved from beginner to 1200 level in less than a year but has been stuck and really needed some guidance from a good coach. I wanted to get him some in person chess lessons ($$$) because I was afraid Internet lessons would not work for his age, until I found FM Ju and decided to give it a try. We've taken two lessons so far and it has worked very well. He assessed my son in first lesson and in second lesson went over my son's recent tournament losses with him and also has a tailored plan to target my son's weaknesses. In addition to the lesson itself, Evan was a top player in his age group in his junior chess player days and is an inspriration to my son. My son is very quick and when he tries to discuss chess with me, I cannot follow his line of thoughts. There is no better person than blitz #1 player to teach him. Being a beginner and weaker player than my son, I can also count on Evan to give me additional advice such as what books to get, what software to get, etc.

    Best value in coaches, period.

$30 seems like a heck of a bargain for an hour. Hoping to take advantage soon.
