I'm a 24 year old chemist who just started playing chess about 10 weeks ago.  I've been bit hard by the chess bug (honestly, I play at least 2 hours a day), and I'm in it for the long haul.  I've made lots of progress since I began, but I'm the type of person who always goes after something with a beginner's attitude.  I've got an infinite amount to learn; can you teach me some of the game?

how does online coaching works? i'm really new to this site, but i know the chess rules and have played some games at school, but never been in real tournament before

So here's my deal, Im sure you've heard it before. Grew up casually playing sunday games against my relatives (who werent very good it appears). when ever I went up against some albanian men my family was close with, I would get crushed. neither their play nor my families, had an formal training, it was just win and lose until you figured out how to handle situations. Playing here: Im hovering around 1000 (in blitz bullet and standard) and would love to break through to a somewhat respectable 1400). I sometimes play like I should have a 1240 rating (with how I see the board) and other times like i should have a -300 rating. Wondering if you could help me just figure out what i ned to work on? I mainly play the scotch or ruy lopez as white and accelerated dragon or hyper accelerated  dragon as black (unless they give the center away with wing moves and then I play as if i were developing a white kings opening). Worst part of this torment is: (not trying to sound pompous here) but I am in mensa. I am curently a grad student simultaneously completing two advanced professional degrees. and I think uber pragmatically and logic based. I feel like my rating SHOULD be higher, aand frankly given all the years of chess I have played, I was a little surprised I am not more around 1600. and its not. Let me know pricing or whatever. mind you have i have little money as im on loans, but I'll try to figure a way to make it work. please help.

No other way to say this but... I suck. Against normal people (like my friends) I'm okay. But against these people on here it's probably a complament to call me s***. I don't know if I've won yet on here but if I did it was probably me against someone who didn't know the scholar's mate.

Hi can you please teach me. I'm 13 and play chess after i finish my homework because, well all my video game consoles got destroyed by my mom with a hammer (long story). I appreciate that you don't ask for money like other people, you play chess because you love it and not becasue you want the money. I've never played in a real tournament just one in school, which i came first, and i hope to improve. Even if you don't coach me thank you
