Hi, my name is Lui (official name: Tian Lu Peng). I'm a college student and ambitious amateur chess player. I've taught beginners and lower rated players in school chess club since I was 16. My current target student are players rated between unrated up to USCF 1600. I offer an 1 hour free sample lesson to any serious applicant (no request of prepaid fee).
Below is a list of my tournament performance in some of the big tournaments I played in 2012 and 2013:
2012 US Open
Place: Class B co-2nd place
Performance Detail: scored 5.5/9 with a performance rating 1970
2012 Midwest Class Championships
Section: Class B
Place: Clear 1st place
Performance Detail: scored 5/5 with a performance rating 2157.
The Bill Wright St. Louis Open
Place: U2100 co-1st place
Performance Detail: scored 2.5/5 with a performance rating 2085.
2013 Chicago Open
Place: Co-2nd place
Performance Detail: scored 6/7 with a performance rating 2140.
2013 Thanks Giving Open (St. Louis)
Place: U2000 co-1st place
Performance Detail: scored 3/5 with a performance rating 2005
It took me less than 3 years in total to improve my USCF rating from 1200+ to over 2000, so obviously I know what are the keys to make fast and stable progress. Thus, my coaching aims at designing complete improving methods for my students and help them to quickly become better and better in chess as well.
