About Me:

Hey, so a wanna get better at chess. You also want to know why you would choose me as your chess coach. Well teaching chess has been my profession for over 30 year. In those decades I have developed many methods which give you a firm foundation in the game. Hmmm so who have I taught, well ever here of a guy named Maurice Ashley? Chess should be fun and not a chore why? because if its fun you will learn more and faster.

You don't have to be bored to learn to play well, so give up boring old chess teachers and learn with a teacher who has been where you are now.

P.S. I am also quite reasonable! lol email lessons, telephone, and in person are all available.

Hello Steve this is The Cosmic Moor  if you know Jamal from Brooklyn  with the OxfordGambit Club.  Good to see u up here using this sight as a way to recruit, chess on the net is the way to go now and for the future.

All u Guys wanting instruction this guy is worth the price. I have received lessons from him first hand especially on endings and famous games, I have played him in blitz games, I have seen him demolish masters in the NYC area and take their lunch money.I have sat in and watched his successful methodoogies on teaching chess to children I gathered much in my learning on  how to teach.

His teaching is clear, concise and full of ideas If want to improve  quickly especially by learning key endings,  this is your man  dont worry about GM or IM titles its really about presentation and communication skills and  teaching experience not too many better from N.Y.C than Steve Colding.

I am impressed that you took down the random name you put up, (why be coached by GM Rachmanivillicoff).  Kudos to you.

Hi Steve, why so much more for in-person lessons?  Are you talking per hour?  How much would you charge to analyze some of my games, say 30 or 40 of them?  Fritz's analysis just doesn't do it for me.  By the way, what's your rating?  Thanks!

Just found your personal page.  My name is Tom.  I primarily play on gameknot and have a rating of 1530.  I've been playing chess for about a year now and seem to have hit a wall in the 1500 rating range.  I'm currently doing "Rapid Chess Improvement" and am going through the CT-ART 3.o program.  I'm extremely tactical by nature.  I would like to know how much your rates are.  I would have to study by email.  Thanks for your time.
