I am a keyboard/piano/synthesizer virtuoso, professional composer, guitarist ( of all styles ) and have my B.S in Graphic Design/Commercial Art. I want to very much improve my game.

hi

i am finding difficulties with my opening and middle game. seems like i use my pawns then box myself in and i have no really good move for an attack. i tend to start with the kings gambit and move a pawn out to stop advancing bishops or knights becuase i know no real player will scarifice a strong piece for a weak one. but then i just seem to box myself in and have no real stratigic move after that and slowly and sometimes painfully i am eating away. what opening do you suggest? and how do i stop boxing myself in?
