Hello. My name is Jacob Wagner and I am a USCF Expert rated 2002. My rating is on the up and in my last ~23 uscf games I have lost only 1 tournament game.
I care less about perfection and "correct" openings, and more about thought process, emotions, logic and becoming strong through imagination and discussion.
Some of my greatest chess influences were Joshua Waitzkin's chessmaster lectures, and Nimzowitsch's "My system", along with many other books and lessons. I play strong computers often.
I am very familiar with a wide range of chess books and chess software. I help my students get the best training material.
In the past I used to take serious students only. Right now I'm having a special to get new students - $10 an hour! This won't last too long, the rate will raise to $15 most likely.I will be giving lessons at $10 an hour for at least 2 months. Normally I charge $20 an hour or more locally to dedicated students, but I am in a bit of a pickle financially right now ;p.
Lessons will not be given on chess.com. They will be given through other software that allows takebacks and arrow annotations. We can do voice chat through the internet or through phone. If you wish to improve your game seriously, I will put in as much effort on learning your unique strengths and weaknesses as you do on your improvement.
