Description

For a long time I wanted to make my own chess program, mainly because I am a fan of this game and also because it is a good exercise of programming.

Aretar is my humble attempt to enter into this fascinating world.

It includes most of the main UCI commands and it is compatible with the Arena GUI (already tested).

It runs with an Elo of about 1400-1600 (not really rated), so it is not very strong yet.

More information and updates in my blog:

Any feedback is really welcome.

Regards,

Javier Ruiz

Remember Arena engines are always first in a folder named for that engine. -/aretar/aretar engine .exe

    Winkexample;

    right c./brain farts/arena/engines/aretar/aretar engine .exe

    wrong c./brain farts/arena/engines/aretar engine .exe

    Hi Andrés,

These are the steps I took to install my engine on Arena:

    - Create a folder into the arena\Engines\ and call it Aretar '..\arena\Engines\Aretar\'

    - Copy the program inside this folder.

    - Open Arena and go to Engines-->Install new Engine.

    - Select the '.exe' file inside the folder you previously created.

    - Now you should be able to use Aretar with Arena. To do this click on Engines-->Manage and select Aretar as your Loaded engine.

By the way I am using Arena 3.0.

If you want to contact me please send me an email to mergram at telefonica dot net.

    Regards,

    Javier

If you want to improve the program, take a look at the code for the Stockfish engine.
