This is a Chess playing program that I wrote in Turbo Pascal as part of my Ph.D. research in Artificial Intelligence that you may download for free. This is an updated version of the program (as of 25-May-2010) to correct some level 2 questionable moves and occasional missed checkmate declarations. It has to run in a DOS window of a 16 or 32-bit Windows operating system. It will not run on a 64-bit OS without compatibility-mode being selected. The program is designed to be played with a physical Chess board and pieces. It contains only text-mode graphics.
The Zip file contains both the executable and the source code file along with documentation. The Chess program is CP3.EXE. To run the program just double-click on the CP3.EXE file. I have a copyright on the source code file, so you may modify it or share it, but you cannot sell it. I offer this program for free download without a warranty of any kind.
For the most challenging game, play it at level 7 (the default level is level 2). The program has 8 skill levels, with level 8 being the strongest, but requiring the longest computation time. Let me know if you can beat it at level 7 or 8. Please leave a review and a vote. My email address is: swheeler@scientist.com.
