This book is very good for starting chess players, because it has a combination of both move by move openings; and general rules for chess openings. I recommend this book for anyone who wants a good chess opening book

Excellent. One of the best overall/general chess books out there. Teaches a lot about the various concepts, followed by a sample game. Horowitz was one of the best to explain chess to ordinary, non-Jedi players. Algebraic notation, please...
