While chess theory (openings) has changed over the years since Morphy played - and admittedly many of his games were not against skilled players - still, the way he coordinated an attack in a lot of his games remains exemplary of how to 'do it' in any game.  Opportunities arise, when one has a bigger 'bag of tricks' to use, and these are many of the tools you will find useful - his techniques and style.
