I have this clock. I haven't tried any others, but people at the local library chess club like to borrow my clock. I can't give it 5 stars because I have not tried any other clocks.

I love this clock though it's a bit hard to program outside of the presets.  You get used to it.

I came from wind up clocks so this was a major leap forward.  I read the FIDE rules and this clearly meets all criteria.  The fact that it does a fischer clock as well as a pause makes it extremely useful.  I prefer bonus, some prefer pause.

Pros: Extremely flexible, easy to read, pleasant beeps

Cons:  Hard to program, takes C batteries, heavy in my bag.

No rating because I just bought this clock -- I think durabilty is a MAJOR issue for chess clocks. But if this clock turns out to be durable I'd give it five stars. It really feels solid -- and the variety of timings are great.  Figuring out how to set the customizeable timings caused me a few moments of grief, but it's actually pretty straightforward and when I was done I wondered why I'd had trouble in the first place.  You can set just about any sort of time imaginable -- Hourglass Fischer or Bronstein (! my current fav) or straight delay (no additions) various tournament split times... The cheaper version of this clock (the blue one -- the saitek competition, is the name maybe) has just 10 presets and no custom slots... I think it's a huge mistake to get that clock instead of this one, spend the extra 20 bucks IMO (although i like that blue color... wish this one came in blue!) You also have the option of lights on the clock lever (or not) and a beep for time's run out (or not)... One nice touch is a button on the front of the clock that tells you what move number you are on.This clock has everything I want except:

The chronos clocks have the heavy case and no-moving-parts buttons on top that make them perfect and _indestructible_ for blitz. Can the saitek clock hold up to heavy blitz use? My hunch is no (I'd love to be told differently though) ... if I were a hardcore face to face blitz player i probably would still go with chronos. But if they made this clock with touch buttons on top instead of the mechanical buttons... chronos would be in trouble IMO.

Very nice timer.  It can handle most situations but it cannot handle three time periods with increments.  Thus it could not have been used at, say, the Tata steel tournament.  This is of no importance to me, personally,  but it might be of interest to some buyers.  The timer meets all of my needs nicely.

I really like the clock.  I am on the verger of acquiring another one due to the fact that someone else liked my clock also, I guess more than I did!! Seriously...it help's me to become a more faster thinker which in turn will make me a better player. I don't think I would want the wooden clock since I am use to this one.

Its very nice but the price is quite high for me not to mention handling and delivery cost. Is the company manufacturing this clock has no branch here in the Philippines?
