To be honest, this is probably one of the worst purchases I have made in my life.

The graphic is awful, which makes it very difficult to play. It kind of works ok if you have a real chess board in front of move the pieces there.

But to play only on the computer isn't easy.

My advise is: Stay away from this one. Instead buy an Ipod touch or something and install Shredder chess on it. It's an entire different world.

i use this mostly for study so that i can see the movement of pawns / pieces while i read or to be able to carry something smaller than a book while i am travelling. [the computer will remember one sequence of moves and then, by use of 'takeback' i can go back to the beginning and run through the moves {or change them} while i study / memorize. it will also go into an 'auto self-play' mode and give me its version of a game which i can takeback and study.

BUT: i've had it for several years and i still find its controls clumsy. it is a rare game when i don't lose my work.

i actually far prefer my PDA's which have far greater flexibility [and can handle variations and branches and can store a virtually unlimited number of games.]

were i starting from scratch i would not consider this travel chess computer to be worth the investment if i could afford a PDA - which gives me address / phonebook, notepad, camera, and lots of add-ons if i want them
