Here's the manual: Master Chess Manual PDF

And the board size is 7.75" x 7.75"

And give the sister product, Explorer Pro, a look. It has many of the same features, newer styling, and only slightly weaker game play.

the game play is very good the avarage or beginner player should look for a weaker computer.

Very strong beast! Managed to "tame" it only 3 times in the third level--but I'll try again!! Great toy...

I have the newest one. very strong. fun levels are described as for beginners but I am not a beginner and I find them tough. I am guessing the lowest level ( fun level one) would play at about 1500 to 1600 if you take your time. I beat it but I have to work they say they've tried to make the fun level more human. having it make mistakes common to beginners. I have to say these fun levels present a reasonably realistic playing experience. the fun level will give up tactical shots (but I've not seen it hang a piece larger than a pawn as suggested by instruction). fun level tends to be solid in the middle game and if you give up a tactical shot it won't miss it. but it plays really weak endgame maybe because of it's restricted search depth. overall. this is a great toy for folks rated between 1600 and 2000

I am playing an unrated game against cokes, using MM to assist me.  MM is limited to 7 ply which it does in a few minutes.  Cokes is using a programme he wrote himself.  He was surprised when I suggested that 4 ply = 1500 ELO.

warning, only play if you have a 5min blitz rating of at least 1700 or more. take a longer game and it does get a bit easier. very strong!!.
