The Players Series is a tournament sized natural and Rosewood Staunton pattern chess set from the Houe of Staunton. The King stands 3.75" tall with a 1.7" diameter base. It is one of the heaviest set of it's size currently on the market. This set is designed to withstand the rigors of practical play while maintaining the elegance which have become the hallmark of a House of Staunton chess set.

The design, quality, workmanship and finish of each House of Staunton chess piece is superb, and the workmanship on the Knights is amazing for a set in this price range. The chessmen are cushioned in green billiard cloth and come housed in a divided letherette case with the House of Staunton logo in gold on the lid. I purchased this set from the USCF store. I use it for my tournament set. The quality is excellent and the weight is very comfortable. A friend of mine who played tournaments for years stated it is one of the nicest sets he has ever played. I highly recommend anything from the House of Staunton you might purchase.
