2010 Winter Scholastic January 16th - College Park Gym in Winchester, KY

5 round Team Modified Swiss format. Check-in from 8:00 – 8:45 am. On-site registration closes at 8:30. Players meeting starts at 8:45 am. Round One starts at 9:00 a.m. sharp.

Tournament Entry Fees
The entry fee for this event is $20 if postmarked by January 11, 2010 ($40 thereafter)

K1, 5 rounds, G/30, trophies: Top 3, Top team.

K3, 5 rounds, G/30, trophies: Top 5, Top 5 unrated, Top 5 U400, Top 5 U700, Top 3 teams.

K5, 5 rounds, G/30, trophies: Top 5, Top 1 unrated, Top 5 U500, Top 5 U800, Top 3 teams.

K8, 5 rounds, r1-4 G/30, r5 G/45, trophies: Top 5, Top 5 U600, Top 5 U900, Top 3 teams.

K12, 4 rounds, G/60, trophies: Top 5, Top 2 unrated, Top 3 U900, Top 2 teams.

Nonrated, 5 rounds, G/30, trophies: Top 8, Top 2 teams.

Additional trophies: Biggest Upset in each of K3, K5, K8, and K12 sections.

All K-1, K-3, and nonrated players will receive a participation medal if not winning a trophy. Number and category of trophies will be adjusted based on entrants. Teams based on top 4 scores, must have at least two players to make a team. Games without a clock will have one added 40 min. after start or asap there after.

Upon arrival, please check-in at the registration center. USCF membership is required and available on-site. Please bring your chess sets and clocks if available. Children 12 and under must be supervised – absolutely no drop-offs! A vendor will be available on-site.

We give away several door prizes! There will also be a large floor chess set for fun play in between rounds.

Parking will be in front of the gym; in the back of the College Park Annex Building (old library - will be used as one of the skittles areas); and at the Hannah McClure Elem. School just at the end of Wheeler Ave.
