Format



  • 4 Rounds Swiss
  • G/45 (+ 5 seconds delay).  Unrated Scholastic Sections may have faster time controls at TD's discretion.
  • Accelerated Paings may be used at TD's discretion.
  • Section 1: Open Section (USCF Rated) - Any current USCF Member may play in this section.  No age or rating limits.
  • Section 2: Scholastic Section (USCF Rated) - Any current USCF Scholastic member may play in this section.  However, High schoolers are encouraged to play in the Open Section.  Only limitation is that you must be in K through 12.  If there are many entries in this section, I will split it up by grade levels if necessary such as K-5 and K-12.
  • Section 3:  Unrated Section (Not USCF Rated) - Technically this is an unrated Open section which will allow both kids and adults to play in it.  IF there are meny entries in this section, I will split it up.


If you wish to take any byes, please inform TD before the first round.

There is also a minimal requirement of 6 players per section for that section to have a tournament.

Cost


$4 ($2 goes to the Carver Center).
Members of the Carver Center will pay only $2.

Trophies & Prices


Due to the minimal charges, we will not be awarding trophies to individuals or teams.  However, medals will awarded for individuals.

Registration



Please email loudounchess64@gmail.com with the following information:

  • Name of Player
  • USCF ID
  • Desired Section (Open Rated, Scholastic Rated, Unrated)
  • Alternate Section (in case of insufficient players to play a given section)
  • School Grade (if any)

Due to potential capacity issues, preregistered (by email) players will be given priority in participation in some sections.

Time and Payment


Payment and check-in will take place between 8AM and 9AM.  Round 1 will start ASAP after that.  More details to follow.

Please bring EXACT change and don't be late.  Preregistration by email will help everyone so that we can all get started earlier and finish earlier.
