on August 8th-16th, 2008 arranges the Chess Tournament
FIDE Open Stare Mesto 2008
 
Location: Sport and Cultural Center, Brnenska street, Stare Mesto (Stare Mesto is close to Uherske Hradiste)
 
Gaming System: Swiss system - 10 rounds
 
Time Control: 40 moves in first 2 hours + 1 hour for the remaining moves (max. 6 hours)
 
Awards: Financial and material /CZK/. Awards are divided by Hort. Concurrence of awards is not possible. Order will be determined by score, Buchholz, Middle Buchholz, average ELO rating of opponents.

Youth up to age 15 and invalid players will have a discount of 50%.
Players over age 60 will have a discount of 100 CZK.
Members of Zlin Region Chess Union will have a discount of 100 CZK.
Discounts can not be cumulated.

 
Lodging and Boarding: School hostel of High Agricultural School and High School in Stare Mesto ( about 5 minutes from playing room) - 4 beds rooms with possibility of placing per 2 or 3 persons - according to number of free beds. Price including breakfast and lunch is 285 CZK per night (the tournament lasts 8 nights), price without diets 190 CZK per night. It is important to order the lodging till June 30th - after this term we are not able to guarantee this lodging. We can book lodging at some of the local hotels (in a distance of 5 km from the playing room).
Players with norm IGM, IM, WGM, WIM have lodging, breakfast and lunch free of charge or we can customize these conditions according to individual needs.
  
Light Refreshment: Will be available directly in the playing hall.
 
Applications: To be sent till July 20th 2008. Later applications will be charged by extra 200 CZK.

Possibilities for free Time: Swimming pool in Stare Mesto is located only 500m from the campus or swimming pool in Uherske Hradiste located 3km from the campus.
AQUA - Center is situated at the Hotel SYNOT (200m).
Place for free time sport activities at campus (gym, table tennis, football field).
There are Castles Buchlov and Buchlovice close to Stare Mesto (10km).
Moravia Empire Centre (archeology, historical monument) of Veligrad.
Recreation rides on boats on river Morava and channel of Bata.
