February 21, 2009
FTCC Blitz #1

Registration will be 11:00-11:30

Round 1:    11:45-12:15
Round 2:    12:30-1:00
Lunch Break
Round 3:    1:30-2:00
Round 4:    2:15-2:45
Round 5:    3:00-3:30

5 round swiss system with game/15 time control.

Please note that in the event we have fewer than 10 players in the official section, we will limit the rated-play section to 4 rounds.  If we have fewer than 8 players, we will limit the section to 3 rounds.

We have players from Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Kernersville who plan to attend, so we should easily have 10 total for the rated-play section.

Entry fee will be $2 for either official play or the unofficial section for non-members.
There will be no prizes.  The entry fee for rated play will be used for the rating fee.  The entry fee for the unofficial section will go back to the Forsyth Tech club to purchase supplies.
This is a great opportunity for their club to receive some exposure to the local chess world!

Signs should be printed in and/or around the building to direct attendees to the cafeteria.
The chef intends to play, so I'm assuming that players will need to bring lunch or make a quick trip to one of the nearby fast-food places.  There are several within a mile or two.
I can help you with directions if you have a particular preference.

Final note, we will be watching the weather.  If snow or ice occur on Saturday, the tournament would need to be rescheduled.

I hope everyone can attend to help boost the club at Forsyth Tech and enjoy some excellent blitz chess!

Please pass this information along to anyone you know who may be interested.

Turn left at the stoplight at Miller Street at the main entrance to the campus.
There will be three buildings on the left as you drive downhill on Miller Street.

As you turn into the parking area, Hauser Hall is the building on your right.
The cafeteria is on the ground floor.
