Norwalk Library, 1 Belden Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut* - 2nd Floor Auditorium

Limited to Unrated or USCF rated players under 1200, finishing 12th grade or lower

* Near Exit 1 from Route 7

Entry fee $10.00 if received in advance, $15.00 at the door

Entries will be limited to 60 players.  First come, first served.

A five “round”  (five game) event

G/45 (each player has 45 mins to make all moves in a game)

 

Boards and sets will be provided.  Please bring chess clocks if you have them!

 

                                  Late Registration 9:15-9:45 a.m.

First round 10:00 a.m., later rounds ASAP.  This is a “no-knockout” event.

 All players play all rounds unless a "bye" is requested in advance.

Lunchroom facility available, bring a bag lunch.

 

Parent’s Note: The time at which the tournament will end is unpredictable, but most likely around 4:00 p.m. or later.  Please do not enter a player with the idea that you will withdraw at some point to meet another commitment if the tournament runs too late.

 


Trophies to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, plus top in these grade categories:  K-2, 3-5, 6-8.

Name of first overall is engraved on the Yazgoor Cup, on permanent display in the children's library


Players and their family members are asked to respect the conditions under which the Norwalk Library makes its facilities available.  Players will be expected to conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to a library and a chess tournament.  Tournament organizers cannot provide supervision beyond the tournament room; a parent or other responsible adult should be on hand for each child.  Parent’s signature is acknowledgment of these conditions.
