The inventor of chess took his invention to the king's palace and told that this is the game of mind and intelligence, whoever has good memory and sharp mind wins the game! King nominated his prime minister to learn this game, after few months when P.M. learned all the tactics and rules of the game king arranged a tournament between inventor and P.M., P.M. won the matches, king was surprised and annoyed that which kind of game was that, how inventor of the game could be the loser, king ordered to kill this man whom shattered his P.M’s valuable day & nights. The inventor replied; my lord I already told you that this is the game of mind and intelligence and your P.M. has great mind and a very sharp memory so he succeeded. King became happy with the inventor’s respond; ok tell me what do you want, what is your desire? Whatever it would be I will be complete your wish, inventor said no thanks me lord its enough for me that your P.M. learned this game….. but king was insisted! Then inventor placed his desire, to put one piece of rice on first square at a1.of the board and double it every time till h8. at that time 4 piece of rice was equal to 1mg. King again annoyed but kept his angriness controlled and ordered to bring one sac of rice and full filled inventor’s desires, after c1 it was doubled to 2mg (1,2,4 i.e. a1,b1,c1) at e2 it was 1024mg = 1gram 24mg at a3 the weight became 1kg 600gram now double every time on every square till h8! Whole the godowns and reservoirs of the country was finished that year but won’t reached to h8. One of my uncles was told me about this true story. Is someone heard this story b4? If yes please write me the name of the king, inventor and some more history related to this occasion, I would be grateful to him/her.

I don´t believe this happened. The theory of doubling up is a story that comes in many forms, not just chess.

I have heard this story and am also unsure if it is true. Try looking it up it wikipedia or something. (There are 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 grains of rice total)
am not clearing the theory of doubling up but the magic of every square which seems only 64 but contains infinite moves and depth inside!
Nytik
It would appear to be a fictional story, and is used often for secondary school maths students in the idea of exponential growth and how it quickly becomes massive. (The last square has 2^63 grains of rice, as I'm sure you all know.)

This is the Sissa's legend.
Sissa was a legendary Brahmin and creator of the game of chaturanga (chess ancestor).

Legends have their basis in fact. However, I don't know the inventor's name ??
