    The subject of rating inflation seems to be a popular, if somewhat controversial one, on the forums, so I thought some of you might find this interesting.

    Mark Glickman is the chairman of the USCF's ratings committee; his thoughts on the phenomenon, as well as a list of the top 5 players ever he compiled statistically, are here.

    Sort of a non-issue if you ask me. Ratings just measure tournament performance. They don't measure pure strength. If you wanted to measure strength, devise a standardized chess test.

    Thanks for linking the article. It was interesting to read and I have to agree with the article that it would be hard to compare players of different eras since modern players have advantages that players in the past did not have.
