Shock--Human beats Rybka

This story turned out to be a major disappointment when it was "grudgingly acknowledged" that Rybka was heavily handicapped. Now if a human could beat the best programs int the world straight up, that would be news.

Wow, that was very well played by Milov. What were the time controls, and what exactly was the handicap?

Technically, a rook for a knight down, so just 2 points. Which isn't bad. Smile

I obviously wasn't paying much attention since I didn't notice that. I thought he meant Rybka's evaluation had been biased towards accepting bad exchanges. Still, against Rybka that's well played.

    "Rybka is out of book"

There's a "book" with openings without a black Queen's knight and white Queen's rook?
