Tata Steel Rd.8: Carlsen beats Nakamura in 3.5/4 streak

23.01.2011 – Who can understand these geniuses? After taking flack for lack of focus or motivation, Magnus Carlsen beat Nakamura in an impressive game, part of a 3.5/4 streak he is now on. The leaderboard has never been so close with Anand and Nakamura at 5.5/8 followed by four at 5.0/8. The "B" group saw So seize the lead, and in "C", Vocaturo is king once more. GM analysis and videos. :

Carlsen lacks consistency. Sure he can play at a very high level but he has a habit of losing to people rated 200 points less than him. I guess that even though he is the top-rated player in the world he still lacks experience and maturity.

I agree to Carlsen's inconsistency. Anand and Kramnik are still forces to be reckoned with because they are so damn accurate.

Oh, and Nakamura is leading the tournament after round 11. C'mon USA!

Can you give a single example of Carlsen losing to a player 200 points or more lower rated?
