It's noon here on the Eastern seaboard of the U.S. and three of the 5 6th round games have been completed today. Tournament leader Fransisco Vallejo Pons(4 pts) was going into today's round one full point ahead of 2nd place Vassily Ivanchuk(3 pts), with a multi-way 3rd place tie. Both of their games have finished up along with a third, so let us start the show.

Game one is Short/Movsesian game, with both players coming into today involved in that very same multi-way tie with a 2.5/5 score. That has now changed since Movsesian won his game after a 20 move resignation by Short after 20...Qa4 in a Sicilian opening:

    ----------

Next up, the game involving 2nd place competitor Vassily Ivanchuk, who has black today against Vugar Gashimov, who also has 2.5/5. They locked up today in an Advance Variation of the Caro Kann, and after 27.Ra8, Ivanchuk resigned:

    ----------

Now, we have the game involving the tournament leader Fransisco Vallejo Pons, who has a near perfect 4.0/5 going into today, and is facing off against Fabiano Caruana, another of the 2.5/5 tribe. They duked it out today in a 24 move Semi-Slav Meran System opening, only going 24 move sets:

    ----------

There are two games left and will be posted upon completion with a rough standings list.  Cool

    ----------

The last game, Morozevich/Onischuk, the last two players with 2.5/5 should be done very shortly.
