There's an "interview" of Topalov on Susan Polgar's blog. It's basically just a leading question allowing Topalov to brag how he dominated with white in openings because the was using Bulgaria's biggest super computer. Several Indian news sites are talking about how Anand received help from Kramnik and Kasparov.

According to a chessbase article Carlsen also helped Anand, as well as Kramnik and Kasparov. It seems noone likes Topalov.

Also according to the article, Anand ALSO used a large computer cluster offered to him.

Let's see here. Anand is friends with Carlsen, have been for years. Kasparov likes and respects Anand. Kramnik likes and respects Anand, and maybe doesn't like Topalov that much. But saying that Topalov is not liked because Anand is a well respected and World Champion, that anyone would love to trade ideas with, doesn't make sense. Topalov is great for chess. Lots of people like him. I love the hell out of Topalov!
Which article talks about Anand using a super computer? I missed that one.
@Reb, Kramnik not loking Topalov is easy, who knows with Kasparov. There's pictures out there of Topalov getting out and along from time to time. But his image is not good. Doing an interview with a leading question "Tell us how our Bulgarian supercomputer completely outprepared the World Champ in the opening" is also not good marketing.

Though isn't history going to remember this match as having the better OTB player who choked the least become the eventual winner?
I doubt hoping your opponent overlooks Qe8 (game 12) has anything to do with preparation. Some of us patzers would prefer to call that Hope Chess.

It seems a lot of other GMs offered to help Anand...says a lot about his likability index. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"...maybe this applies here also. It would be very interesting if Magnus eventually faces Anand for the WCC, seeing how close it seems they are.
The chessbase article of course. Its in the first paragraph of the 2nd part of the interview. To quote Anand:
So we had to do something in a hurry. Then the people from Hiarcs got in touch, Harvey Williamson and Mark Uniacke. Harvey had access to a very powerful computer, and he let me have it for the whole match. That helped – at least we could check some of the more critical areas with a really powerful machine for a couple of hours. That improved matters quite a bit. It’s one thing when you have it a couple of months before the match, but at least a lot of the critical areas these guys would check very thoroughly and make sure that I had something to play with.
Thanks I didn't know the source. Interesting stuff about the openings, I wonder if Random Chess will ever take off because of this.
