Look awesome, but extremely expensive.

Awesome Boards.! I will send my Syrian Pals over to pick one up.CoolSurprisedSurprised

I have two of these boards, one of them a hand-made prototype. Sure you can spend 10 or 15 bucks on a vinyl or silicone board, or seventy bucks on a folding mahogany board. I'll take a wood board over plastic any day, and the functionality and ease of transport for these BCE boards puts them over the top. And that's not even considering their superior looks.

Boogalicious

Thanks for the pics, they sure are pretty :)

9kick9

They are nice boards.! I like the newer model since they have a border. How much are they BTW as I could not find a price on Ifekali's site.?

cgrau

Kick, I believe they're 99E. The oranger one is a prototype made by Jonas, who named and signed his progeny.

Kick:

"Availability is very limited, a few of the boards are already reserved for previous BCE customers, the rest are available for € 99,99 + shipping, all appropriate taxes (VAT, etc.) included. Email me if interested."

Thanks for the info Chuck.! Your board is nice but, I like the newer ones with a border myself.

You're welcome! I like the new ones too. But the older one is unique.

QuestionableKnight

Is it the lighting or are the new read-ones with a pure white square rather than the more natural wood colour in the first two of Cgrau's pictures?

Looks the same to me, QK, but I haven't actually seen the new ones.

QuestionableKnight

Fair enough! Is that a Dubrovnik you are using on the red board? If so is it a red or brown set?

Eyechess

That's a Best Chessmen Ever, Stage 1.  I believe that is the set bought directly from Jonas and not a Noj version.  I know because I also own one.

By the way, I just received my BCE chess board at the end of last week, along with the Noj Dubrovnik I had on order for awhile.

My board is the bluish green one and not the red one.  Looking at the red one, makes me wonder if I should now buy one of those.  The set in the picture sure looks good on that board, doesn't it?

Oh yes, the dark pieces are ebonized, so the color is black.

phudson

Eyechess, I think he meant the set in this picture:

This is the Dubrovnik I I bought from Jonas, the first one NOJ crafted. 3.5" kings, walnut and maple. Unweighted. Two of my friends from the Exeter NH Chess Club are playing with it. I'm taking the picture. The sets in the other pictures I posted is my BCE S1 Tournament Set, ebonized and boxwood, 3.75" king. I have a custom 4.0" king NOJ BCE S1 in red and maple, but that's not depicted here. It's too big to play on these boards.

kenardi

Pictures of the new batch available?  Would like to see the new colors.

QuestionableKnight

CGrau and PHudson - Thanks for the replies.

The Dubrovnik looks great on that board, hence my question.

cgrau

QK, that's not the best picture. I'll take some more of the Dubrovnik on that board for you. I also have a red BCE S1 that I'll take a few shots of on it.

I like the "Stage 1 Quattro Print" batch the best so far.

I prefer the boards without any lettering/logo on the squares.
