yes, we will probably open the link this saturday and have a deadline in Nov. so everyone gets enough time. then at the deadline we will start receiving votes and have the winners decided by the end of the year so we can start putting it in book form in January.

i am sorry to leave you with such a painful memory : (

    OK, I'll forgive ya....

Could I submit original puzzle compositions?

sure as long as they are original! and you give it your own title and at least one sentence of opinion or description or explanation or something communative. we don't want to get in trouble for plagiarismInnocent

good idea! i think we could make a cover contest for those who like to draw.

winner is the cover and the rest get added to fill in the blanks on the pages?

i was thinking that same idea but i didn't mention it because i thought it would be a little complex. the cover would have to have a title and some words on it but it would be sorta weird to have the title re presented every few pages. perhaps we could limit it to just the picture with room for the title and production name somewhere in the image. that way each chapter could be given it's own title and we could just super impose the words wherever they fit in the image. Then the submissions that don't win could make good illustrations to introduce chapters.

The images can probably be altered afterwards, but i also know that people like creating there own kind of letter, which are beautiful to have on the front page, i guess. It might be complex after all but im sure its worth trying to accomplish

this is true, perhaps they can submit them as two files, one with the image and one with the font, and then after the winner is decided they can redo the title to fit whatever chapter they are used in.

what if it's all hand drawn work ran through the scanner? not all of the art work is collored and high-tech..

good point, if we are lucky, some one with photoshop CS will donate the time to edit rough draft drawings or we may have to limit the use to quality images for chapters and rough sketches for shrunk down fillers on pages that have blank spots. It may depend on how many participants we have though

hmm some roughh sketches are frontpage material tough, but that's because i think sketches are really nice, better than high tech created perfect images..

the voters should reveal which ones are good. I like sketches too. i sometimes do a little sketching, I have an associates degree in fine arts, mostly musical theater but a little drawing, painting, sculpting too. once i did a sketch of my wife to look look like the woman's head by Da Vinci. It looked pretty close only the features were my wife's features and i used a reddish brown chalk so it wasn't as clear of definition as his, but the emotion is the same.

i think you should enter a drawing to then, i'm really rubbish when it comes to sketching and such, i rather write thats why i'll enter the first contest. I do love to look at good sketches and such, so i'll sure vote everywhere.

Was it your idea to have this contest? if so i want to say it's an amazing idea i wonder if it will be an hit..

a simple idea is that the people who are spearheading this keep it anonymous.  Give each one a letter or number that we will know about, but the other members won't.  Then people can vote for the letters

alright, that a good   idea then you can also filter out the inappropriate stories. And what if anyone tells other people their number?

umm i don't have power to do anything, so i'll wait for pastoryoshi to tell ya

that is a good idea too, i was thinking of creating a forum so people could submit it into the forum but then the computer automatically gives the name, so we can just have them submit it all to falling-upwards and he can assign letters or numbers and post all the submissions in a voting blog so people can vote by letter/number. if people want to get together their friends to vote for them i suppose that is an american right called campaigning, but there will be a semi final first and then a final and they will have to get through both. (the contest was my idea, but i am not the first one to come up with it, other people have before)
