My wife occasionally rolls her eyes when I purchase "yet another" chess book, but I did come across the following posting on a used book cite which indicates that my investments may not be in vain:
"Bronstein on the King's Indian, Bronstein, David Everyman Chess, 1999, 9781857442656, GAMES CHESS, CHESS, Attractive. Shows some signs of wear and is no longer fresh. Bookseller: Sparks Distribution Center Free Shipping, Sparks, NV Price: US$ 7399.00"
Wow, $7399?
Are you sure it wasn't a typo? I don't see the words "rare" or "collectible" or "24K gold" and "encrusted with diamonds" in that phrase. And thinking about it, not even $73.99 does not seem fusible, at least that is my opinion. What is behind this mysterious book?
I can only hope that it was a typo, otherwise my wife may dispose of me and live comfortably selling off all of my chess books...
Maybe it wasn't a book...maybe Bronstein actually shows up and tells you about the King's Indian.
