Have a look at this article. If you are too lazy to pick up and pick up a pen then this may appeal to you... http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/2007/04/monroi-future-of-recording-chess-moves.html I know there are many organizations that would love to get chess to be more popular, but this won't help much... Only a matter of time before someone hacks one (unless it's already happened). I don't see how chess can ever be regarded as anything more than commercial with so many loopholes and machines "running a muck." Even the USCF rules have been changed to allow their use in the tournament hall. One more reason to work towards that FIDE rating I suppose...
Well technology will be always changing. I can see in the near future chessboards that will record you move as you play a game, so a person will not have to write down moves as they play, then a printout of the moves or a CD copy spits out after the game is over. Plus the board will have a built in timer, so the palyers will not have to hit a button to start their opponents timer.
wow, how much does it cost ?
$359.00 USD
Is look like I'll have to wait for a little while for the price to come down abit .(if I am still playing)
Yeah like Chessmaster for $10 .... hey ! I've got that !
yeah you are right, well I might do two things here, one, might upgrade my membership to platinum seeing I've been here for nearly a year (expire next month) under the Gold star and secondly buy some books, on chess of course, so I can enjoy reading them.
why am i the only one reponding to your thread ? lol hey Anthony I've gone platinum, what about you when are you gonna do it? Why are you worry about those stories ?
Why would you want to carry around an extra machine, much less pay for it, when pen and paper will do the trick? This is like bringing a calculator to add 2+2=4. I agree people are getting lazy. This is a problem of our society.
Well they (TD) will just have start building these detectors in theirs playing venues. I know... how far will it go ?
I have to say....it is pretty cool though.
So I checked it out and read the specs. It stores games in PGN format and has 4 MB of flash memory, and yet can only store 50 games??? What are they doing with the other 3.95 MB?
It's for opening DBs.
Shh....
