Good luck with that one. Probably either spend money and stay Chessbase or change software. Maybe instead of the subscription model you just buy an older database? There's one with and one without annotated games. Get a year or two old much cheaper. Or go free. Scid and Stockfish.

So I have Chessbase 11 which used to connect to their database and tell me what people who atually know how to play chess played in various lines. Now it is telling me my sunscription has expired and they want me to upgrade to some new software costing $100's of dollars. I'm fine with my CB 11 (and its no doubt antiquated kibitzer that plays chess better than anyone on chess.com). What is the solution to this problem that doesn't require I buy hundreds of dollars of stuff and change software?
