Hey Erik, I noticed that you'ved banned several players, such as vena, bapooya (I think that weas the name), and even Fiends... all in 1 day! Did you create some kind of new, quick technology to find all of these people as cheaters? If so, please tell me, and I'll try to find chess computers that will surpass your technology. ;D

Seriously, did you install some new chess computer detection? Tell your humble people of chess.com about it, then! We're always interested!

EDIT: Erik and associated chess.com staff

These players were actually banned, check it out...

You are correct Dr. Doc MD, but I don't feel that this is necessarily any of our business...

Of course, as soon as the staff choose to respond to this, I'll find out if it is my business... nevertheless, it's good to know about developments, since I am a member of this website (not a paying one, although I may be later on ;D).

But I didn't confirm my identity, prove my chess skills, and I didn't go through a cheating detection system! Why am I still here? =P

Oh so there is a detection system, good! A new tool to play with, watch out for new members that suddenly shoot up to 2500 without notice, jk. I REALLY AM KIDDING.

Great I am glad that those who play by the rules will have a chance to win.  I know that there are good players and ethical players playing on www.chess.com I was matched against a player whose rating was above 2000,  I don't remember his exact rating.  He was in the second round of 1200 to 1400 tournament.  He wihdrew all of his games in the second round realizing that playing against players he was matched against would not only be an unfair matching , but also unethical.  I sent him a good sportsmanship trophy and thanked him.  Good players do exist and it is great to know that www.chess.com  cares about its customers and players.  WAY TO GO STAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How in the name of larry, curly & mo does chess.com find out if someone is using cheating software without breaking the law by using invasive software? Not that I object to having cheaters found out... quite the opposite, I loathe cheating!

This is comment that is meant in the best interests of chess.com (as I love this creation & new place I have found).

If anyone uses invasive software to find out what programs are running on any persons computer couldn't or wouldn't that be hacking? & possibly punishable to the detriment of chess.com?

I appreciate that cookies have existed for as long as the net but speciffically using those sort of programs to find out what programs are running on a PC could be contorted by a vehement individual into some sort of negative case vs chess.com

or am I, may I be, pissing in the wind?

Bets interests from Danny.

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowin' in the wind... like an old fart, lol.

Danny: We don't monitor what programs you use on your computer. We only look at your chess games and moves :)

Now thats devotion, less than a minute to reply and you actually look at the games others are playing, how can you tell if some one is cheating, brilliant, idiot, lucky? I mean you have set games & all, like prestet openings to challenges... now this is the first time I have struck preset openings, not that I've played any other chess servers, it's probably routine but I find it extraudinary having the computer play out the openings for you after you decide which one (I haven't tried it yet but will) Now if you had an end game actuator and a middle as well, what for we play eh? Cheers big ears.

He might be referring to this incident:

http://www.controltheweb.com/polgar/#controversy

Reports from people who saw the video say that Kasparov clearly let go of a knight, then picked it back up to make a different move.  He went on to win the game afterwards.

Is there any way to restore the points of those who were cheated? It doesn't seem practical as admin would have to undo hundreds or even thousands of games but I was just wondering.
