Don't you just love how Chessbase keeps its customers in the information loop? (One of the reasons why I'm no longer a Chessbase customer.)
Fritz 13 Updates
Yes, it would be nice to know what is being changed in the program or if there are any new features being implemented. On the other hand, I am quite happy with the program so no complaints there and no bugs that I've found to cause problems.
No thanks. The serial number has nothing whatsoever to do with the version and build number in terms of updates.

I meant that as a joke. Fritz although I have the dvd is always asking for the seriel number. All my fritz's used to do that although they are improving. I do not know what all the updates do although I did notice one update which allowed you to use another persons engine (for ducats) to analyze your games.
I've never been asked for a serial number, so I guess I missed the humor. My copy was downloaded from the 'net and I don't have a CD/DVD so I guess it "phones home" to verify the copy as legitimate and check for version updates. I guess I could go back and sift through the menus to see if there are new entries or features. I assumed the updates were to tweak the engine a bit. I've never had problems with bugs in the program and although it's not free, it is a nice program with which I've become quite comfortable.
I have this program which was in build 5 when I installed it. Currently it has been continually updated to build 32 or some such. I am not finding any list of updated features or bug fixes on the chessbase web site. Does anyone know what these updates are doing? I'm not finding any new features or changes to the program. Perhaps copy-protection tweaks? Am I missing something?
