Jailbreaking isn't illegal. However, downloading nonfree apps for free is.

hey guys, i love stockfish for my ipod touch. it is very easy to use and is ranked one of the best engines on the app store. Also, try searching the chess.com downloads for some engines. i think hte last time i checked, i found some for the computer. i own a pc but if you own a mac or linux or something, then i don;t know what kinds of files there are for that.

the GUi that i very much prefer over any other one if fritz. i love fritz becuase it has all of these awesome features and the engine is ctually pretty good. for free, i think stockfish is good or i think i saw a deep rybka in the chess.com downloads section so you can download that with arena or something and make it work fine.

    HAVE FUN!

All engines are equally "easy to use."  It's the GUI you choose that differs in user friendliness.

Houdini 1.5a, and the latest versions of Stockfish, Komodo, and Critter are all the engines you need.

For a GUI, try WinBoard, Tarrasch, Arena, or Scid.
