    I hope someone else hasn't pattented hurt/heal.

    Basically pretty self-explanatory.

    1. You may only vote once per day
    2. All options start at 5 points
    3. On each turn you hurt one engine and you heal one engine
    4. Hurting an engine brings its score down by two
    5. Healing an engine brings its score up one
    6. If an engine goes down to zero, it is eliminated
    7. Illegal votes are ignored
    8. Until January 10, no engines are voted on; during this time, anyone may mention a chess engine and it will become a candidate
    9. No engine may become a candidate after January 10th
    10. Sorry if I took someone elses idea with hurt/heal, but it is a great idea!

    The candidates:
    Rybka 5
    Houdini                              15 points
    Fritz 6
    junior 8
    shredder 11
    hiarcs 13
    crafty 4
    stockfish 7
    tornado 14
    delfi 18
    chessmaster 2
    zappa 19
    naum 12
    critter 9
    chess titans 1
    fruit 16

    firebird 17
    ivanhoe 3
    Ouachita 10
    capablanca 15

The Voting has been completed and the winner is Houdini!

I will start by mentioning Rybka, Houdini, and Fritz.

I will now edit my original post and add these to the candidate list.

    the last engine standing wins.

If noone submits any engines before the 10th, then the game is aborted.

If an engine is not submitted, it isn't voted on.

Sorry, the hurt/healing doesn't start until January 10th. Until then anything mentioned is just added to the things to be voted on. I thought this would be more fair as I don't claim to know about every chess engine on the planet that deserves a spot here.

Ok. In your list both free and commercial engines are listed...probably these are different categories, I don't know...The winner among commercial engines in very clear (I just don't want to mention...). Among free engines the answer is not that clear... (but you know my choice:))

I'm thinking of upping the date for the voting to start to Jan. 5.

if there are any obbjections, I'll stick with my original Jan10.
