Anybody have any good insight on this book. My plan was go go thru all the games and as I go thru each game analyze the position and come up with the move I would make and then compare to the move that was actually made

Anyone have any good or bad reviews on the book?

What does that have to do with the book eddy? I'm not quite sure what you're saying.

I'm not familiar with this book, but have read "Understanding Chess Move by Move" which is quite good.  Your idea of trying to guess the move before you see it is a good one.  If you enjoy such a practice, look at my free software: Guess the Move (YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZgWSCHxJHI, homepage: https://sites.google.com/site/fredm/).

If this is "Modern Chess: Move by Move" by Colin Crouch, it's a pretty high-level book. A very good book, but aimed at pretty accomplished and experienced players.

I think the way you're intending to study the games is very good, but I wonder if you might get more out of "50 Essential Chess Lesson" by Steve Giddens or "Chess: The Art of Logical Thinking" by Neal McDonald. Both these are books of annotated master games, but the annotations are aimed more towards the club player

Thanks paul. I already purchased the book so I'm gonna give it a shot once I'm done with my current book. If I feel its too advanced I'll put it aside and try one of your suggestions

At the very least, you'll get to play over some terrific modern games, and that can never hurt!
