Hello Everyone,

I recently started a chess board company in Colorado.  I am a one person team, who has made all of the designs myself.  I am currently offering vinyl boards of different sizes, with or without notation.  The boards are far different than your standard issue vinyl boards.  I would appreciate any type of feedback about my products.  Thanks for your time.  You can check them out at www.BoardsofChess.com   You can respond through this post, email me, or leave a note in my blog.  Thanks again.

Some of the vinyl boards are very jazzy and nice, I always use vinyl and plastic sets. The pic's are ok too!. I have made a personal note of your site.

I'd like to see more actual pictures of the boards, than cad generated ones.  I do like the idea of marble look to the vinyl.  It does make them look more interesting.  Perhaps you could set up a tournament with some of those as prizes, to get some more publicity out of this.  Not sure if site owners would be ok with that though...

eternal21,

There are no cad generated pictures on my site, they are all photos by me.  Thanks for looking.

Very nice!! It's about time there was some variety in the tournament/travel/lower end of the market. I'd like to have a nice set to take around with me, the thing is most of the mass-market travel sets look like crap. So...I might just have to order a board when I get the money. Maybe after Christmas.

Do you do custom work too?

Thanks for the compliments.

Darkmage: I have done custom work before, but I haven't really set anything up price wise yet.  I need to explore this idea some more.  Here are some examples, of custom work that I have done.

I can post some more later.

That's actually a very clever product idea. Wish I'd thought of it. The "wooden" ones catch my interest.

@Boardsofchess: those custom ones are nice. The lower one reminds me of my old Chessmaster 5000 settings. Cool

The reason I asked is b/c I've got a Chinese chessboard (Xiangqi) that came with the set, but it was just cheap paper so I had it laminated. That would be awesome if I could find a vinyl board for it as the wooden pieces are quite lovely but the board was crap. :/ It hardly ever gets used though as I usually play vs. CPU, none of my friends play Xiangqi.

Here are a couple of other custom boards that I made for someone that you won't find on my website.
