Well, I finally pulled the trigger a couple new chess sets... nothing TOO fancy. I originally wanted a wooden set that folded up for easy travel, but I decided I could get a little more for my money if I got some vinyl chess boards.
I ended up ordering an analysis chess set and a heavy tournament chess set from wholesalechess.com... all in all I spent less then I would on even a cheap wooden set, and I got a nice set for setting up analyis problems, and one for easy travel and play.

I'm stoked!!! Can't wait to break them in!

It's too bad they dont offer singlefold linen boards at wholesalechess.com.... I saw one at stauntonchess, but it was like 90 bucks not including shipping, which I think was CRAZY. And of course they dont sell them individually :(

Does anyone else sell singlefold linen boards for a decent price?

Good choice, I thought and thought and thought some more about buying a nice wooden chess set, until I came to the conclusion that I should just buy some vinyl chess boards.  So I got the analysis chess set and the heavy tournament chess set from wholesalechess.com too.  They just arrived on valentines day, how fitting:)
