 I use the Queens Gambit quite often, and the literature and commentaries i've read all figurativly refer to accepted v declined, Ah thats where experince alone will propogate your set-up, as end game is usualy a constant here.

It depends on accepted or declined, Queens Gammbit easily can be diverted to a center game of exchange. d4 NF6. c4 e6. NF3 b6. counter/NC3 (4. a3 bB7 5. Nc3) 4...Be7 8.Williard_Sarmiento. Check it out!

The Nimzowtsch def. locks the center, from attack, eliminating any discovery, going into the middle game. Position is a must by the 4th move.
