Scandinavian 2...Nf6 Book

Hi

Can anyone please recommend a good book for an in-depth, broad account of the Scandinavian with 2..Nf6?

To be more specific I'm looking for something which covers all the main theory on the 2...Nf6 line (possibly supplementing with master games as books often do), not just a collection of games being analyzed where this opening was played.

I should re-iterate I have no interest in the 2...Qxd5 line, so am looking for a book which either deals exclusively with the 2...Nf6, or at least goes into a nice level of detail in this line (all of the books I have found seem to just dedicate a small portion of the pages to focusing on the 2...Nf6 line and mainly look at 2...Qxd5).

Thanks in advance :)

Was going to recommend Plaskett or Emms but they both fail do to what your second paragraph of the post wants them to do :(

I think Smerdon is writing a book to that effect...Portugeuse & Icelandic repertoire book or something.

Thanks guys, I think I'll take a punt on Plaskett's book. All the reviews I can find seem to be people complaining about how long he dwells on the 2...Nf6 lines - perfect!

Mainline_Novelty: I will definitely keep an eye out for that! I've already had a look through some of his nice wins with the Portugese when browsing the web on the subject!

Shivsky, what I really meant by that part is I'm looking for something which can give me a solid knowledge of all the 2...Nf6 lines, to a level where I can be confident playing it myself OTB. As opposed to a collection of games (which of course just contain details on specific lines). Would you say Plaskett's book is good for that?

Thanks both for your help so far :)

Plaskett's book had me getting really excited to try our both the Icelandic and Port. lines .. I'd use it as a springboard to dive into a database to see how are black's practical chances with those lines against strong opponents. Though as one of the critical reviews indicated, there's less hard work put into that book than Emm's IMHO : Plaskett would seem to just want to chat with you about it rather than dwell into concrete ideas :)

Ok, thanks. Sounds like it might me be worth getting hold of a copy of both!

Boris Alterman did a multi-part series on the 2...Nf6 line on ICC that I thought was excellent.

GM Smerdon (chess.com username smurfo) is in the process of making one.

Thanks, is there a rough estimate for a release date of Smerdon's book?

Its not a full book on it but Keene and levy wrote a book called opening repertoire for the attacking player. (when I googled it I see many books that have a blue cover.  I think mine might be a later edition since it has an organge cover)   I think it was really pretty good.  Of course it only has part on this defense.  But since it is for lower rated players he does a good job of covering how to properly cover odd early moves.

He recomends the Portugese variation.

Thread opener throws games against players to get rating low, and then plays against high rating. Either that, or a shared account. Check highest rating (1900) with current rating (1030).Checked some games of him, he did NOT belong in 1030, won from a 1700 player etc. A comment on his page also says he resigned twice after 2 moves. Can we get such ppl banned?
