Should I get Fritz 11?

I currently have Chessmaster 9000 and Fritz 8, as well as the free Rybka 2.2 download that I can use in the Fritz engine.  However, I can get Fritz 11 for $29 if I order it today.  I don't play the computer much, I normally only use it for analysis, so is it worth getting the new Fritz at a great deal, or is what I have now sufficient for what I do?  Thanks.

Well, only you can tell. You only use it to analyze. Do you have any problems with Rybka 2.2 and the rest?

I like Fritz 11. Actually sold Rybka. I think your fritz 8 has professional commentaries which i miss in Fritz 11 but have in my Fritz 7. Fritz 7 is more valuable than people realize with all of the pros analyzing their games and alternative moves.

While Fritz 11 may be excellent, I do not think you will experience that much more osmosis of chess ideas with it than you can with the progams you already own.

I have Fritz 11 and like using it as an opponent more then for analysis,

         but for 29 bucks...

I bought Fritz 10 for $10 last year. Granted, it was at a clearance sale, but it was still twenty to start with. So $29 isn't really a good price. Besides, what's with the one-day-only schtick? Where are you buying it from?

So is Fritz 10 better than Chessmaster 10?

Fritz is stronger, but Chessmaster has good (better?) learning materials.

There are other issues you should put into balance: the training videos Fritz 11 comes bundled with, access to playchess and tactics trainer. Basically this is what you pay for, you don't need yet another chess engine.
