The pieces are boxwood and sheesham. I used to have a small traveling chess with rosewood. They were nice. These pieces are fairly large though. Wholesale is usually pretty good. Was the retail of over a hundred hyped a little and what about the current price. I see there weighted pieces which I would assume would add some value to the set? They look real nice to me?

I liked them. I wish the ebonized set was discounted though. They are a great site to deal with, I have made several purchases from them. One thing I have noticed with there pricing when something is on sale (as far as chess sets and pieces) and they show you the "retail price", it's not the normal/regular price when it's not on sale. The regular price is approx. $15-$20 less than the listed "retail price".

They do have great deals from time to time. Good quality stuff.
